  19. It looks like my problems were with the "echo" and "xecho" statements.
  20. I really should have encased their arguments entirely in {}.
  21. Didn't think that was required, but that did the trick.
  22. Perhaps kermit 8 is more finicky about dubious syntax than kermit 7 is.
